Athens Church Renovation

Athens Church is located in Athens, Georgia.  A small group of people who really love the people of Athens launched the church in 2005 as a Strategic Partnership of North Point Community Church where Andy Stanley is the Lead Pastor.

Athens Church recently closed on the former (Wal-Mart/Steve & Barry’s) building near the intersection of Atlanta Highway and Loop 10 behind Starbucks. The entire 110,000 square feet available in this facility will be master planned, but 45,000 square feet will be developed in phase one. The property sits on 11 acres of land with 700 parking spots, and will feature a 1200 seat auditorium, themed environments for children birth through 5th grade, student ministry, small group and other environments. It will also serve as the operational headquarters for their ministry efforts in this area.

Cogun Inc. was chosen on day one to partner with the leadership team in guiding them through the renovation project.  We coached the leadership through the selection of the architectural firm Neal Prince and Partners and are worked alongside both the church and the architect to develop a budget for the project and a design within that budget that meet their ministry needs.

Construction began in October of 2010 and is scheduled to be completed and ready for worship in Mid May.
