If you’re this far into the year and still fine tuning your goals for 2012 congrats!! You’re in a very small crowd. Here are a few things I’m working on that you might consider as you move through your best year ever.
- Find Your Jesus Connection - We all connect with God in different ways. Do you know your way? Make this the year to try some new things and figure out your unique formula. (PS – God’s word is a good starting point, I like Paul’s letters to Timothy because its like reading someone’s personal mail)
- Be in the moment - When you’re at work….work!! When you’re at home, actually be engaged. When you’re at church, serve.
- Pursue a big dream – Yes you can pursue a big dream and still be in the moment. In fact, being in the moment is critical to having the staying power to reach a huge goal. That’s how you eat an elephant, one bite at the time. (BTW – Elephant isn’t a lean protein source)
- Get an Masters in your spouse - This one impacts all the others. Click Here for a good starting point.
- Exercise to relieve stress – The treadmill is alright but throw some weight around too. Weights will knock the stress right out of you. It’s not about being strong either, it’s about getting stronger.
- Invest in somebody who can’t repay you – This is just Jesus 101.
- Delay gratification – Probably the #1 problem we have today. Never let what you want most be at the mercy of what you want now!
- Be real with somebody – You don’t have it all covered. If you did, none of us would want to be around you anyway.
- Talk less, ask better questions, connect
- Give, Save, Live on the rest – Yes this is the year! Even if you’re income is half what it was, or less.
- Tell Somebody – Confession is the pathway to healing. It offers the opportunity for the offended to provide grace. So drop the fig leaf and start really living.
- Forgive – forgiveness is the bitter medicine that brings peace. The decision to forgive has to be managed everyday in the beginning, and often there after. And yes forgiveness if for you but its also the best thing for them as well.
What about you? What are your ideas for how to make 2012 the best year ever?

This is classic, good-stuff from Richard Chancy. Funny. Wise. Way relevant. Impactful. Full of impact…wait….I already used that one. Anyway, good stuff!
